Elastic Band Scapular Retractions

This exercise focuses on retracting the shoulder blades using an elastic band.

Instructions

  1. 1Hold elastic band at each end with overhand grip at chest height.
  2. 2Squeeze your shoulder blades back by pulling the band apart to the wall behind you
  3. 3You should feel your shoulder blades coming toward each other as you pull the band apart.
  4. 4Allow your shoulder blades to protract and retract again.

Programming Recommendations

We recommend performing 3 sets of 10 repetitions, once or twice daily unless directed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
